The principle
Draw the line on purpose.
Every workflow has two layers. The process is the part that repeats and can be described, so an agent can run it. The craft is the part you cannot describe: the taste, and the conviction that a thing is right. The usual mistake is to automate both at once and flatten the second one.
The Blank Collar draws the line on purpose and automates the process side so completely that the craft gets room to breathe. A leaner you doing the same work faster is a poor prize. The point is the work that was always yours.

How it shows up
In practice.
- 01Name the process explicitly. If you can write it down, an agent can run it.
- 02Name the craft too, so nobody automates it by accident: creativity, taste, conviction, presence.
- 03Put the hours you win back into the craft. Otherwise you've built the old company, cheaper.
Draw the line well and what remains is smaller, sharper and a lot more human.
